I only need the AV for Movies/Sky only and not for music. From specs they both seem identical and the 1080 is overkill for my needs.The manual says the receiver works best with 8 ohm speakers. (8 ohm speakers will measure as 6.5-7.5 ohms on a meter anyway) and I have been up to 54-57DB out of 60DB for hours and the receiver stayed room temperature. Novice Member. Oct 30, 2021. #1. I have recently bought a Sony STR-DH790 receiver. I have a few issues hope someone can help. Sometimes when playing a dvd the back speakers don't seem to work at all. I have the 5.1 set up through B&W speakers, the front speakers work ok, occasionally I will get music coming through the back but nothing else.. Spark xml

This weekend I finally got an Atmos-capable receiver, a Sony STR-DH790. I've had the DH770 for years and was pretty satisfied with it… I just installed STR-DH790 and want two things: 1. When the receiver powers on I want it to start on SAT/CATV by default, not TV. 2. When the receiver powers on I don't want the Sony "Home Screen" or "Easy Setup" guide to be on the screen.
